2.1  Instructions for Editors

The ASPCS Instructions for Authors and Editors Using LaTeX is the essential document to have at hand when compiling your volume. It includes all the instructions editors need when compiling their volumes, including specific LaTeX instructions and general suggestions. Editors should also be familiar with the author instructions contained therein.

The Instructions for Authors and Editors can also be downloaded as asptemplates2010.zip, which is a collection of LaTeX files and templates that can be used as a model for how a complete volume is assembled and compiled. The Instructions contain all the same sections as a regular volume, and compiles exactly the same way a regular volume is compiled.

2.2  Helps for Editors When Compiling

2.2.1  Outline of a Manuscript

An outline of a complete volume is provided in the Instructions for Authors and Editors. Looking through a recent ASPCS volume or two would also be an excellent reference.

2.2.2  Margins

You can uncomment the marginguides command in your main LaTeX file to produce a version of the manuscript with margin guides shown. All text, figures, footnotes, and running heads should fall within the margin limits: 8 5/8 inches (21.9 cm) by 5 1/4 inches (13.3 cm).

2.3  Final Checklist Before Submitting Manuscript

Please review and double check the items on the Editor's checklist, which can be found in the Instructions for Authors and Editors, before submitting your volume.
