Abstract: The study of the stellar clusters NGC 3603 and 30 Doradus leads to values of x = 2.3 +/- 0.4 and 1.8 +/- 0.4 respectively for their IMFs at the massive end. This is like the Salpeter value (2.35). There is no low-mass cutoff above M about 6 solar masses for 30 Doradus. For NGC 3603, the cutoff value could be as high as 10 solar masses, but might be caused by instrumental effects.
