Abstract: Spectroscopy of young massive clusters is generally much more expensive in terms of telescope time than photometry. However, the return on this investment is generally high. In this review we consider the physical properties of young massive clusters which may be derived from UV, optical, and near-IR spectroscopy. We highlight various methods of constraining cluster age, metallicity, and reddening.
