Abstract: We present a model for the geometry of massive star birth sites based on near and mid infrared data of NGC 3576 IRS 1. We suggest that massive stars may form via an accretion disk that eventually becomes a flared torus when the accretion ends. The differences observed among the objects and their spectral energy distribution can be explained by viewing the torus from different lines of site.
