Abstract: While carrying out astrometric monitoring of Proxima Centauri (a known flare star, V 645 Cen) for planetary mass companions with Hubble Space Telescope Fine Guidance Sensor 3 (FGS 3), we obtained photometry and astrometry for several significant and several minor flare events. For one major flare that produced a Delta V sim -0.6, time-resolved astrometry (effective 1 Hz rate) indicates a detonation at a distance 5.2 +/- 2.4 stellar radii from the center of Proxima Cen.
