Abstract: In 1981 we undertook a survey of a proper-motion-selected sample of solar-type stars, to study the kinematics and chemistry of the halo and disk populations in our Galaxy. For the past 15 years we have monitored the radial velocities of more than 1400 stars in this sample, to determine the frequency and orbital characteristics of the spectroscopic binaries. In this paper we present a status report on our results for the spectroscopic companions found in the survey, based on more than 200 orbital solutions.
