Abstract: The debris from tidal disruption of accreted satellite systems is expected to remain dynamically coherent over a Hubble time in the outer parts of galactic halos. Presently, the weight of evidence suggests that we can no longer avoid considering the contribution of accretion events in almost every context of Galactic halo studies. Strategies for uncovering and mapping this debris in the Milky Way are discussed.
