Abstract: We wish to investigate the dynamics of the outer halo of NGC 1399, as different kinematical tracers, globular cluster (GCs), planetary nebulae (PNe) and hot X-ray emissions, indicate that this object fades into the Fornax cluster both structurally and kinematically. A detailed analysis of the PN kinematics may indicate that its outer parts are not in equilibrium and an interaction is in place with the nearby galaxy NGC 1404. When equilibrium models are reproduced for this system before the interaction, its mass distribution is consistent with reasonable `galaxy-type' M/L ratios.
