| Abstract: |
The study of gas kinematics provides unique insight into characteristics of spiral galaxies and their interstellar medium. Increasingly, kinematic observations of galaxies result in a two dimensional velocity field rather than the one dimensional information provided by a long slit. This review covers several areas of current research where observations of two dimensional velocity fields allow analysis to be performed that would not have been possible with a one dimensional long slit. |
