Abstract: Infrared searches for very low-mass stars including young brown dwarfs, planetary-mass free-floating objects, and orbiting young planets with the Subaru telescope are introduced. A significant number of candidate planetary-mass objects have been discovered in S106 and other star forming regions. Also explained are an infrared coronagraph imager employing adaptive optics for the Subaru telescope and a survey project of young Jupiter-mass objects around nearby young stars with this instrument, CIAO.
