Abstract: Dust particles could be widely spread in the diffuse intergalactic medium. In this case they will play an important role in the physics of the baryons at large scale and they can impact on the formation of large scale structures. In this paper we compare the IR and X-ray emissions from clusters of galaxies as a function of the redshift to derive constraints on the respective contributions of dust in galaxies and dust in the diffuse intracluster medium to the total IR emission of clusters of galaxies.
