Abstract: The Advanced Technology Solar Telescope (ATST) has some very demanding data handling requirements. Sixteen high speed camera lines are available, each capable of transmitting data at up to 1 gigabyte per second. Camera lines must be fully isolated from each other in order to cope with the high data volume, yet be defined dynamically on a per-experiment basis, providing the ability to route data through various real-time data processing/reduction and quality assurance nodes as needed. This paper discusses the investigation and technologies chosen to deliver on those requirements.
