Abstract: How similar are two spectra? There are many methods to define the similarity of spectra. Usually, a value describes how two spectra are alike. In this paper, we introduce a new criterion which will judge whether two spectra are similar in flux. We apply this criterion on LAMOST production. Using distribution architecture, we can search one spectrum's similar spectra in 2 seconds in a sample which contains more than 240,000 spectra templates. Using this technology, we can use hundreds of thousands of observed classified spectra with various quality as templates for stellar spectra.
