Abstract: Our seven-year long photometric and spectroscopic monitoring of CI Cam reveals the low amplitude light variation with a period of 19.41 ± 0.02 day and strong Doppler shifts in the He II 4686Å emission line, phased with this period. The source of this emission moves on an elliptical (e=0.62) orbit around a massive (M ≥ 12MSolar) B4 III–V[e] star. It is very likely that the fast moving companion is a white dwarf surrounded by an accretion disk.
