Abstract: Austin Peay State University (APSU) was well-placed for viewing the 2017 total solar eclipse with the campus being totally within the path of totality. This location made us the 4-year university closest to the point of “Greatest Eclipse” in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. These circumstances meant we would have several visitors from around the country, and possibly the world, in town for the day. We discuss the APSU preparation for the event, the activities we hosted or supported concentrating in two areas, and the lessons learned for use by others at future events.
