Abstract: Deep Learning has gained great popularity in the last decade due to its success analyzing both images and sequential data. This makes it a powerful tool for time domain astronomy and specifically automatic transient detection. Using simulated photometry, we attempt to perform light curve classification as early as possible, without making use of any additional features (such as host galaxy photometric resdshift or handcrafted statistical features) by making use of a technique used in Natural Language Processing, referred to as self-attention.
