Abstract: We review the recent ground-based and space observations that revolutionized our view on classical pulsators. In RR Lyrae stars, classical Cepheids, and type II Cepheids, additional low-amplitude periodicities that cannot be interpreted as due to radial pulsation were discovered. A few new groups of double-periodic variables emerged in the Petersen diagram. Low-amplitude periodic modulations were also detected in all groups of classical pulsators. Many of the detected phenomena pose a new puzzle to the stellar pulsation theory.
