Abstract: |
The supernova (SN) 2023ixf is a Type IIL supernova occurred in the Pin-wheel Galaxy (M101). This SN has garnered significant interest within the supernova research community because it is the nearest observed supernova in the past ten years. Here, I provide a brief overview of recent advancements in both observational and theoretical investigations of this SN regarding photometric and spectroscopic observations during early-times, SN light curve models, identification of its progenitor, observations of pre-SN activities of the progenitor candidate and initiatives aimed at radio detection. The importance of tight observational constraints on the initial and final masses of the progenitor is emphasized. |
