Abstract: |
The International Virtual Observatory Alliance (IVOA) produces standards to enable the interoperability of astronomical data and services for the global
astrophysical community. Working groups submit the documents following the promotion process described by the IVOA document for Standards and Processes. Currently, this process is overseen and managed mostly manually by the IVOA Document
Coordinator. The current documents can be found in the IVOA Document repository
(https://www.ivoa.net/documents), a global landing page that itself is manually
curated. We are developing a web application to automate this process. This tool will
help users to submit the documents alongside their metadata information. These metadata and the document will then be stored in the IVOA database, as a set of files and
a relational table set (instead of the current file tree structure only). The application
will use the metadata to generate dynamically both the individual documents’ landing
pages and the global repository landing page. Further features of this new web application will enable adding of Errata, Requests for Comments (RFC) phases, etc. that are
currently managed manually by the IVOA Document Coordinator. |
