Abstract: The Planetarium is an amazing tool for exposing the masses to astronomy. In our Astro 101 courses, the planetarium has been used as a support to learning. While the students greatly enjoy the use of the planetarium, it is mostly a passive experience for the students. We have been developing inquiry-style planetarium activities that foster a more active environment. Students start by making observations and creating models to explain an astronomical aspect. Students direct the planetarium operator to make use of the planetarium system to test their models. We will be sharing our activities along with comments from our first year of implementation.
