| Abstract: |
Exoplanets in multiple-star systems are interesting observation targets in exoplanet science.
Because lights from multiple stars disturb the observation of exoplanet in these systems, the high-contrast imaging system must simultaneously suppress these stellar lights.
We have been developing high-contrast imaging techniques, especially for binary stars, utilizing a Comon-Path Visible Nulling Coronagraph (CP-VNC) as a coronagraph, a Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) as a wavefront control device and the Speckle Area Nulling (SAN) method as a wavefront sensing and control algorithm, respectively.
In the laboratory demonstration, a contrast of 2.2 × 10^-8 was achieved in a dark hole generated at a position equidistant from the binary star model. |
