Abstract: There have been dramatic new developments in the search for the reionisation epoch over the last few years. Both QSOs and galaxies have now been found up to z ∼ 6.5, and there is evidence that the end of the reionisation epoch may have occurred at about that redshift. In that case the search now enters the reionisation epoch itself. Prospects for detecting the first luminous objects and the neutral medium beyond the reionisation epoch are discussed. Radio observations may play a very important role in this endeavour.
