Abstract: The theory of radiatively driven winds predicts a dependence of stellar-wind properties on the metal abundance of the mass-losing star. Here, stellar wind models for a wide range of metallicities are discussed. A comparison with available observations (mostly in the Magellanic Clouds) remains inconclusive due to uncertainties associated with stellar parameters.
