		| Abstract: |
We have been carrying out a CO J = 1 → 0 large-scale survey of molecular gas along the galactic plane with NANTEN radio telescope at Las Campanas observatory, Chile since 1996. More than 1,100,000 spectra have been obtained at a 4′ grid spacing for |b| ≤ 5° and at a 8′ grid spacing for 10° > |b| > 5°, respectively. In addition to having obtained a considerably improved dataset for the CO clouds in the galactic disk, we have revealed new features outside the disk including molecular supershells, some peculiar off-plane structures in the galactic center region, and distant molecular clouds located in the galactic warp. I will briefly review some of the notable topics of the NANTEN CO galactic plane survey. |
