Abstract: An optically-quiet HI cloud was found in the HI Parkes All Sky Survey (HIPASS). The cloud has a heliocentric velocity of 458 km s-1, and an HI mass of 1.7 × 107 Msolar at an estimated distance of 3.2 Mpc. The origin and significance of this detection will become clearer with further discoveries of similar objects from the HIPASS survey.
