| Abstract: |
We have obtained spectra from the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph to search for supermassive black holes in 54 nearby spiral galaxies. The project is briefly reviewed here. To accurately locate the nucleus of each galaxy, we acquired an optical image of the central 5 arcsec. These acquisition images provide an excellent chance to study the morphology of the centers of several galaxies at high resolution. |
