Abstract:	We present preliminary results from our survey of CO(1-0) line emission in the barred spiral galaxy M 83 (NGC 5236). The observations have been done using the Swedish-ESO Submillimetre Telescope (SEST) and they are complete out to a radius of 4.5 arcmin , which compares to the extent of the optical disk. The distribution of the molecular gas and and its kinematics are presented.
