| Abstract: |
This paper discusses the intertwined relationship between the
terrestrial and celestial using the labyrinth as a metaphor
referencing sources from art, gardens and Australian Indigenous
culture. Including the Morning Star with the labyrinthine mortuary
ritual in Arnhem Land, the cosmic plan garden at Auschwitz and Marea
Atkinson's art project undertaken at the Villa Garzoni garden in Italy
to create The Cosmic Labyrinth installation exhibited at
Palazzo Franchetti, Venice, during the sixth conference on the Inspiration of Astronomical Phenomena. |
