Abstract: The results of speckle-interferometric observations of Mira R Leo with the 6-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory from 2008 to 2016 are presented. The obtained data indicate the presence of asymmetry in the brightness profiles. The observation sets covered different phases and cycles of pulsation. Observations were made in the 550/20, 656/16, 694/10, and 699/6 nm filters. A change in the asymmetries over time and between different regions of the spectrum is detected. We analyzed the sources of error at the limit of the angular resolution of the telescope. The nature of the observed brightness distribution and the possibility of using speckle interferometry to monitor changes in the external atmospheric layers of large giants and supergiants are discussed.
