Abstract: In this interactive session, members of the SET Collective will share their perspective on building a framework for understanding, teaching, and practicing inclusive science communication, and share some examples of applications of this framework for astronomy communication contexts in particular. Participants will then reflect in breakout groups how they would apply such a framework in their science communication training or practice. The SET Collective is a cross-institutional working group of science communication professionals collaborating on strategies to decentralize white-dominant culture in the field of science communication, the broader STEM enterprise, and society at large. We aim to empower science communicators and science communication trainers to take a radical approach to science communication as a vehicle for addressing inequities in STEM.
