Abstract: The science goal of this SCDD is to quantify how the formation timing, location and subsequent migration of the giant planets impacted the volatile delivery to the inner solar system and the overall solar system architecture. We currently recognize that our solar system architecture is the result of the giant planets forming in a different location than where they currently are located and then migrating to their current locations. However, the details of where each giant planet formed and how they migrated are poorly understood. Measurements of the composition of small bodies throughout the solar system are needed to construct a better understanding of the origin of our solar system.
