Abstract: We present preliminary results of an ongoing survey to probe the physical nature of a sample of open clusters that are believed to be in an advanced stage of dynamical evolution (POCRs; Bica et al. 2001). These types of objects are very important for constraining dynamical N-body models of the evolution and dissolution of clusters, and for understanding the formation of the Galactic field star population. Moreover, they might represent what remains of much larger old clusters, which are of paramount importance for probing the early stages of the evolution of the Galactic disk. Here we present our results for NGC 1901.
