Abstract: Is the bulge just the inner part of the halo, or do they coexist in the center of the Galaxy, but have different formation histories? Preliminary results of a large survey of the outer bulge and inner halo, which traces rotational kinematics as a function of metallicity are presented. The survey fields span a galactocentric radius of 0.5 to 5 kpc, and typically cover an area of order one square degree, sufficient to identify the full metallicity range in each field.
