Paper: Searches for Planets and Comets
Volume: 107, Completing the Inventory of the Solar System
Page: 193
Authors: Marsden, B. G.
Abstract: After an introductory section on the regions of the solar system in which new planets might be found and a brief summary of searches for intramercurial planets, the distribution of minor planets, particularly in terms of brightness, is discussed. An extensive account of the discovery of 13 new transneptunian objects during 1992--1994 also examines brightness distribution and whether or not the orbits of these objects might be stable. The review concludes with a section on the distribution of comets and on the general lack of reliable data on nuclear brightness distribution.
