Abstract: It has been suggested (Catelan & de Freitas Pacheco 1996, PASP, 108, 166) that an enhanced helium abundance in the envelopes of horizontal-branch stars in metal-rich globular clusters may account for the presence of noticeably RslopedS structures on a color- magnitude diagram. In the present contribution, we employ theoretical models to explore the possibility that such sloped structures may lead to the production of some anomalously bright RR Lyrae variables at high metallicities.
