Abstract: The Starlink Project has introduced a scheme which allows programs written for the Starlink Software Environment to be run in the IRAF environment. Starlink applications can be controlled from the IRAF CL, reading and writing IRAF .imh data files. Conversion to and from the Starlink Extensible N-Dimensional Data Format (NDF) is done on-the-fly, without the need for a separate data-conversion step. The intention has been to make the Starlink applications appear as much like native IRAF applications as possible, so that users can intermix tasks from the two environments easily. The general-purpose data reduction package FIGARO is now available to be run from the IRAF CL, and more Starlink applications will follow in due course.
