Abstract: Abundance study of A-type supergiants is a tractable and worthwhile problem since these very luminous stars can be used as probes of the chemical evolution of Local-Group galaxies. Analysis of a few stars in M31 & M33 show that oxygen and alpha-element abundances (for comparison with H ii-regions), and iron-group and s-process elemental abundances can be determined. Abundance gradients of these elements may provide new and unique constraints for models of galactic chemical evolution.
