Abstract: Photometric and high-resolution spectroscopic observations have been used to determine the detailed physical nature of a sample of solar-type (F,G,K) stellar X-ray sources from the ROSAT all-sky survey (RASS). The sources were obtained from an identification program of a complete flux-limited RASS sample located in four fields outside the galactic plane and covering a total area of about 575deg^2. From our data various stellar parameters like rotational velocity v sin i and lithium abundance could be derived. Results on the possible correlations of these parameters with each other and with the X-ray luminosity are presented, as well as a comparison between the studied sample and a similar sample from the Einstein Medium Sensitivity Survey (EMSS), studied by Fleming et al. (1988, 1989, 1995).
