Abstract:	We report the discovery of a clustering of young low mass stars in the vicinity of sigma Orionis. Optical spectroscopy has revealed over 100 low mass pre-main sequence stars, and from wide-field CCD photometry we infer the presence of more than 700 low mass stars within 30 arcmin (3.3 pc) of sigma Ori. This cluster may be an older analog of the Orion Nebula Cluster.
