I re-examine the question of the contribution of faint CVs to the Galactic X-ray Ridge using a simple model of the CV population and the constraints available from current observations. Considering future deep observations of the Galactic plane with XMM and AXAF, the same formalism allows the confident prediction that many faint, distant CVs will become detectable in the near future. |
