| Abstract: |
In view of the coming AXAF, XMM and ASTRO-E high-resolution X-ray spectra, we discuss the validity of the coronal approximation for the X-ray emission from the post-shock flow in magnetic cataclysmic variables. Based on the hydrodynamical post-shock solution of Woelk & Beuermann (1996), we present angle-dependent cyclotron and X-ray spectra of a two-dimensional accretion column. |
