| Abstract: |
Scattering by electrons in the bulk accretion flow in the upstream accretion column can significantly shift the energies of the emission lines from the accretion shocks in mCVs. The process causes an increase in the observed widths of the Fe Kalpha lines and contaminates the reflected 6.4-keV neutral Fe line from the white dwarf surface. |
