| Abstract: |
This paper presents an overview of the instruments of the Subaru Telescope, which is scheduled to be operational by January 1999. There are seven common user instruments under construction (FOCAS, IRCS, CIAO, COMICS, HDS, OHS and Suprime-Cam). The characteristics of these instruments are summarized. Also mentioned are the plans to use a high-speed photometer/polarimeter (Photopolarimeter) on Subaru at its early commissioning period in 1999-2000. The prospects for using this instrument and Subaru for MCV studies are discussed. |
