Abstract: In 1996 EROS-II started a survey of 350 square degrees down to the limiting magnitudes of I 20.5 and V 21.5 to look for nearby white dwarfs and brown dwarfs by proper motion, using its two-colour wide-field imager. We report the preliminary analysis of the first 140 ^{o 2} We expected around ten M_V=16.5-17 halo objects for a halo full of such objects, and found none. One brown dwarf was discovered, which probably belongs to the disk.
