Paper: Historical Eruptions of Eta Carinae: Looking Through the Homunculus
Volume: 332, The Fate of the Most Massive Stars

Authors: Ishibashi, K.
Abstract: The discovery of the Little Homunculus in η Carinae has at least two implications: (1) the mini eruption of 1890 may indeed have produced bipolar ejecta; (2) the formation process of the Little Homunculus may have been analogous to that of the larger Homunculus Nebula. This work provides a short summary on the topic of Little Homunculus and presents a revised number for its proper motion measurement and takes a closer look at the integrity of its SE polar cap as well.
