Abstract: |
Proto-Planetary nebulae (pPNe) -- objects in transition between the AGB and planetary nebula (PN) evolutionary phases -- hold the key to our understanding of the dramatic transformations in morphology and kinematics of mass-ejecta during the very late stages of stellar evolution for ~1-8ms stars. We summarise here the first results from the optical part of our multiwavelength survey of pPNe candidates, which include the discovery of many bipolar/ multipolar nebulae and very fast, most likely collimated, post-AGB outflows. |
