Abstract: |
We report on recent infrared images of cosmologically distant galaxies with the Keck Adaptive Optics (AO) System. With a typical resolution of 0.05'' they are the first observations of faint field galaxies with an AO system on an 8-10 meter class telescope. We are able to resolve both disk and bulge components and determine accurate surface brightnesses and scale lengths. The initial sample of 6 galaxies shows some intriguing trends in disk brightness. We also discuss our on-going efforts to obtain a larger sample. |
