Abstract: NGC 3227 is a nearby, well-known Seyfert galaxy. It is a highly variable X-ray source and shows an unusual combination of optical and X-ray properties. We present for the first time a Chandra spectrum of NGC 3227, taken with the Low Energy Transmission Grating Spectrometer. We concentrate on the dusty nuclear environment of this galaxy, particularly its warm absorber. We also report results from the analysis of a ROSAT HRI observation of the NGC 3227/NGC 3226 system.
