Abstract: The Sloan Digital Sky Survey offers the first coherent multiwavelength astrometric programme. Measuring the position at different wavelengths makes it possible to identify binaries with similar brightness but very distinct colors, the so-called Color Induced Displacement binaries. We here present the results obtained with the third SDSS public data release and characterize briefly the spectral types of the stars involved. We then foresee how that technique could be applied to Gaia.
