Abstract: |
An overview of the work devoted to the delta Sct star XX Pyx within this Flanders-South Africa bilateral programme is given. We first review the motivations for investigating this object in detail, and we explain its importance for asteroseismology of delta Sct stars in general. We continue by pointing out the public availability of the time series photometric data of the star through a FLANSA collaboration, and then look back on the finding that XX Pyx is actually located in a binary system. Finally, we briefly discuss the evidence for anomalous cycles occurring in the star's light curves and we finish by summarizing what we have learned from the star and what may still be done in the future. |
